Book synopsis:
Set in in the fictional town Waning Bay in Michigan, Funny Story is about two people, Daphne and Miles. The two move in together after their childhood-best-friend exes, Peter and Petra, decide to dump them and marry each other instead. From there, Daphne must learn to find herself live a life outside of the one she had with Peter.
This project had us pick two books and then create two different covers for each. this being one of the books I picked.
For one cover, I watercolor painted lemons and a background as well. This cover was inspired by a scene in the book that highlights lavender lemonade. The second cover is inspired by the setting of the story. The two versions feature an emphasis on two sailboats, a nod to the wayfinding of oneself in the book.
